Chail is a quite hill station of Himachal Pradesh that lies about 63 km from Shimla. It is the summer capital of the princely state of Patiala. Before 19th century, Chail is a small mountain village but Maharaja Bhupindra singh of Patiala was transformed this village and converted into his new summer capital. Chail is famous for the world’s highest cricket ground and heritage hotels which is surrounding by the Pine, Deodar Trees, Lush greenery, amazing views of great height, pleasant weather etc. It is also known as the hiker’s paradise which is spread across three hillocks – Rajgarh, Pandewa and Sadh tiba. The destination is covered an area of 73 acres and overlook the canyon of River Satluj. You can enjoy the pleasant weather at Chail throughout the year. Chail is located near Satluj valley and surrounding by the high peaks. One can also have a view of Shimla and Kasauli hill station from chail at night and gives the beautiful views of river Sutlej down the chail valley.

Summer: April to June is the summer season in Chail with the temperature range in between 15 to 24 degree. The days are warm but nights are cool.
Winter: The winters begin from October to till March in Chail. During the winters the temperature is fall down as -2 to -10 degree Celsius. Winters are harsh here and snowfall can see at the end of the year.
Monsoon: This beautiful destination does not receive a high amount of rainfall and the temperature remains 13 to 27 degree Celsius.
City Shopping: There are few special items in Chail that you can buy like handmade shoes, rugs and carpets, woolen garments, Pashmina shawls are the most popular, apple and plum wines etc.
Horse Riding: Horse riding is the best activities which can perform here. At Chail the only means of transport to reach highland is horse riding. This is a safe activities and one the route you can enjoy the apple orchards.
Chail Palace: This palace is known as the Maharaja Bhupinder Singh’s Palace which is set in around 75 acres of land and built in Year 1891. This palace is an ideal location for picnic where you can enjoy the tennis, badminton, orchards, cottages and children park etc. you also enjoy the walk through the thick forest.
Chail Wildlife Sanctuary: It was the hunting ground Of Maharaja of Patiala and it was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1976. It is situated 63 km from Shimla and overlooks the Sutlej valley. It is a well maintained wild sanctuary and has rich variety of flora and fauna.
Gurudwara Sahib: This Grudwara was built by Maharaja Bhupendra Singh in 1907. It is a small Sikh Shrine which is surrounding by lush green and thick forests. The Gurudwara was renovated by the Chail Heritage foundation in 2007. Gurupurab and Baisakhi is celebrate every year by the management committee of the Gurudwara.
Kali Ka Tibba: Kali Ka tibba is a must visited place which is situated in chail at the top of the hill. This is a beautiful temple dedicated to Goddess Kali which is the main deity of temple. This temple is offered the beautiful views of Shivalik and Choor Chandni Peak.
Cricket Ground: This cricket ground is the world highest cricket ground which is situated at an elevation of 2444 mts above the sea level. Maharaja Bhupendra singh was built his cricket ground in 1893. This building and ground was donated by the king to the Government and Chail military School.
Sidh Baba Ka Mandir: This temple is situated on a hill which is lies in between Pandhawa and Rajgarh. It is an important religious site dedicated to Bada Sidh. This shrine was built in 1891 by Maharaja Bhupendra Singh.
Shimla: One of the charming hill stations which is surrounding by the greenery, nature beauty, snow capped Himalayan peaks and Adventure activities makes the destination more attractive. Shimal is a paradise for nature lovers and lots of tourist attraction are found here like The Mall which is popularly known for its shops and it is attraction of the town.
Kufri: Kufri is a tiny hill station situated 19 km from Shimla and 28 km from Chail. Kufri close by the Indian Tourists Park and small high altitude zoo are the popular among the tourists.
Fagu: Fagu has lot of snow capped peaks situated at an elevation of 2450 mts above the sea level. The picturesque location decorated with fruits gardens.
Naldhera: It is a small village situated near Shimla which is popularly known for Nine holes Golf course it is one of the oldest and highest Golf course in India.
By Road: Chail is close to shimla situated at a distance of 63 km away. Buses and Taxies are easily available from Shimla to reach Chail.
By Train: The nearest Railway station is Kalka which is situated at a distance of 77 km from Chail. The toy train from Kalka to Shimla is available and outside the railway station taxies and buses are available.
By Air: The nearest Airport is Jubbarhatti located in Shimla which is around 63 km from Chail.
